What is a ceramic blanket?

A ceramic blanket is a type of ceramic fiber insulation made from high-purity ceramic fiber cotton by the blowing or spinning process. The dry needling process can improve the tensile strength and air erosion resistance of the ceramic blanket.

The ceramic blanket is also referred to as a refractory blanket or ceramic fiber insulation blanket roll. The product has the characteristics of a smooth surface, good flexibility and resilience, and small shrinkage. It is widely used for high-temperature heat insulation in industrial kilns.

Service temperature of ceramic blanket

Ordinary ceramic blanket, 1100ºC

Standard ceramic blanket, 1260ºC

High-pure ceramic blanket, 1260ºC

High-alumina ceramic blanket, 1360ºC

Zirconium contained a ceramic blanket at 1430 ºC.

Advantages of fiber blanket for kiln

The manufacturing of fiber blankets for kilns is quite mature. The spinning process includes needling, thermal forming, vertical and horizontal cutting, winding, and other steps.

High-quality raw material is used to achieve the desired density and thickness. The finished product has a clean surface.

Good tensile strength, uniform texture, flat surface, even diameter, long fiber, and low slag content improve the interwoven degree, anti-delamination, wind erosion resistance, and flexibility.
