Ceramic fiber wool is a kind of fibrous insulating material with lightweight, high-temperature resistance, good thermal stability, low thermal conductivity, small specific heat and mechanical shock resistance, and other advantages. It has been widely used in machinery, metallurgy, chemicals, petroleum, ceramics, glass, electronics, and other industries.

Cerami fiber wool is also known as refractory wool or ceramic wool. It is made from high-purity clay clinker, aluminum oxide powder, silica powder, chromite sand, and other raw materials in an industrial furnace at high temperatures for melting and forming a fluid. By using compressed air blowing or the yarn spinning, the fibrous cotton is formed and collected. Ceramic fiber wool can be further processed into fiber blankets, board, paper, cloth, rope, and other refractory products. The color of the refractory ceramic product is white, and it is a non-toxic, harmless, pollution-free new thermal insulation material.

Features of ceramic fiber wool insulation

Ceramic fiber wool has features such as being lightweight, good heat insulation performance, good thermal stability, good chemical stability, easy processing, and convenient construction. Neither wear-resistant nor collision-resistant. It cannot resist the erosion of high-speed airflow or the erosion of slag. Compared to traditional insulating bricks or castable refractories, the ceramic fiber wool insulation product can save 10% to 30% of energy.

The maximum use temperature of ceramic fiber refers to the limit temperature that ceramic fiber can withstand in a short time, which is used to characterize the heat resistance of ceramic fiber products. The allowable long-term use temperature of ceramic fiber products is generally about 200 °C lower than the maximum use temperature. For example, the long-term use temperature of 1260℃ fiber products is about 1000℃.

According to world practice, ceramic fiber products are divided into four grades according to temperature, namely 1000 °C, 1260 °C, 1400 °C, and 1600 °C.
